“God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’” Job 37:5-6 (NIV)
There’s a time in my life when I do things just because I have to. Trying to do all the responsibilities even though it won’t require me. Trying to meet up other’s expectations against my will, until the realization came to me that I don’t need to be like somebody else who am I not.
I love the way GOD is telling me in the verse how He made me to be. JUST BE WHO I AM. Like the the snow to just fall and rain to shower, be a mighty downpour. He didn’t ask the snow to thaw or stop from freezing and just be a rain, as well as, the rain to stop showering the earth and be a snow… they just do whatever they are created for. The same is through with us. JUST do our thing.
To live in the expectation of others is exhausting. We live in a place where people tries to define us on how to live a valuable life. It’s indeed hustle to fit in. If we’re not afraid to admit, at some point in our life we wrapped up ourselves into the expectation of others just to make them feel happy, we are safe and gain their approval. But this is not where we found the fullness of joy and meaning of life. Be the person God told you to be. Just do what you love to do. Do your passions which GOD imprinted in your heart since you were born. It take courage and grace to walk away from something to recover /reclaim that essential self or individuality GOD designed for His purposes but God only wants us to be who we are. We don’t need an approval or permission from others. And just like snow to fall and the rain to shower, we are meant, created, commanded to be who we are ” unique, special, precious and worthy” and not what others tell us who we are.
Today, have the courage to live the life You’ve called to be with the same contentedness and confidence as the falling snow or the pouring rain. Walk away from roles and others expectations and live in peace with the exact way God created you to be — on purpose and for a purpose.
