How To Flip Up Unhappiness Into Happiness

There are times that you are very positive and happy with your life. Your happiness is overflowing that you cannot contain it in yourself. You want to voice out to the world how happy you are. There are also times that you feel so heavy and lonely, you are complaining about everything, from petty things about the weather, about the traffic, about the food etc.. then all the bad things and negative thoughts started to come in your mind.You are questioning about your existence, asking why you are in this situation instead of someone else and then started to blame other people. When these are all started to throw into your mind what you can do is turn that thinking into a happy moments. How? You can try these 3 simple ideas.

1. Count 54321 to interrupt that negative pattern or negative thoughts in your mind according to Mel Robbins, and think of a happy moments in the past whether about laughter with your family, memories with someone you are happy with or things that excites you even small things like dinner with a friend, going to the mall, buy some good stuff or anything that makes you happy so your mood will change.

2. Make a gratitude journal of the things you are grateful for from small petty things such as your nice dinner, a cup of coffee, a compliment from your boss, a thoughtfulness of someone etc. Think of the positive and great things that happened to you at work. I’m sure there are nice things the whole day, just focus on finding it.

3. Prayer and Meditation is the number one remedy how to change your mood from unhappy to a happy mood. When you pray and surrender to God all your burden He will lift you up and remove the weight you are carrying. As in the Scripture in Matthew 11:28-30 ~ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

  3. The first point is the hardest that takes a lot of practice, but is probably the best thing you can work on. I once heard that it would be good to combine it with a breathing exercise. It was suggested to imagine a red stop sign as soon as a negative thought comes to your mind and then think of a White surface. Unfortunately, I am kind of ignoring the tip in my life 😦

  4. What have suggested with you is another way how to interrupt negative thinking by stop and delete then switch it into positive by thinking a white surface (means cleared) and focus on happy positive things🙂
