” Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER.”- Mark Twain
In childhood, we normally heard our parents or elders asking .. “What do you like when you grow up? What do you want to finish studying? One kid will say, I want to be a doctor so I will heal those sick people,… next one will say “I want to be an engineer because I want to build great buildings and houses.. and another one say ” I want to be a teacher so I will teach children in school. Every child is full of dreams. They want to be an artist, dancer, actor, chef, model, architect, police, soldier…etc.
What happened to all these dreams when times goes by?
Growing up is not easy for some individual. Every one of us is going through different circumstances and experiences in life. Some maybe lucky to have a wealthy family who can support them all the way, in all their need especially when it comes to financial matter. But when it comes to those who were born in poverty, life is very difficult. They are struggling for their basic needs in life such as food, shelter and education so basically, it is not easy for them to pursue their dreams and passion in life or they cannot even realize or think about their dreams or not even dreaming at all as they are so occupied with life challenges and trials and they just accepted their life circumstances as their fate and destiny. However, there are some individual that even if they were raised from scarcity they are striving to change their situation and improve their life. There are already a lot of successful people who have dramatic experience of “from rags to riches”. These people came from poor family, experienced great struggles in life and started from nothing, but because they didn’t accept this as their fate and reality, they seek an answer, they searched for wisdom and they strived and overcome until they reached the catapult of success. All of us need only an awareness about who we are, our potential and our power within us. We are limitless.
Real situation behind unawareness
Many people choose careers that don’t make them happy, stuck doing jobs they hate just because they need money. They need to support their family even if they are not yet married or they are the only person who can help their family. Their whole life are working hard to make for living and survival. This is how their life experiences, circumstances and society mold them.
Be strong and do not be afraid of failure
In your deathbed , they said the thing you will regret are the things you didn’t do when you were still young and strong. You have plenty of time and energy during your youth but then you just let the days, months, years passed by.
“If you were born poor it is not your fault. But if you die poor it is absolutely your fault.” – Bill Gates
If you’re feeling unfulfilled in your career, maybe it’s because you’re on a path that doesn’t connect you with your passion. Maybe it’s time to steer right off that road and take a different route. Or you feel like you’re just floating along the river of life, it might be a good idea to grab a paddle and start exploring uncharted waters. Take a step out of your comfort zone and experience new things. When you’re stuck in your comfort zone, you’re afraid of being uncomfortable take the courage to decide and take that single step outside of your comfort zone. Branch out and see what’s out there. Eventually, you’ll encounter something that gets you excited and you are passionate about.
“If you want to change your life. Change the things you do daily. – Brian Tracy”
How to determine your passion?
You must have some idea of what interests you a little bit. A big factor in finding your passion is also recognizing what you’re good at. You are good at something, recall your childhood memories and dreams. Do research with the passion you’re curious about, and put yourself in situations that force yourself to ask “is this something I like?” You can also ask yourself the simple question of “what do I really like doing?” Everyone has hobbies, of course, but try to look deeper at the things that motivate you in life.
